This track addresses Altiris core technology concepts, including implementation strategies, configuration best practices, monitoring techniques, integration best practices, and optimization guidance. Special sessions in this track focus on integration utilizing Altiris Workflows and the Altiris Software Development Kit.

Altiris | Symantec strategic partners include some of the most respected international hardware and software providers in the industry. Together we strive to improve the manageability of your infrastructure through joint development of specially tailored solutions. Sessions in this track demonstrate technologies that help improve client and server hardware management, fortify your security defenses, and support new technologies, such as system virtualization.

Client & Mobile Management

Effective configuration management is key to reducing costs and providing a high quality, stable, and secure computing environment to end-user customers. This track helps you optimize configuration management processes such as initial system deployment, software packaging and delivery, state management, and disaster recovery, as well secure systems with proper patching and desktop lockdown techniques. Special sessions in this track focus on Windows Vista migration, application virtualization and streaming. 

IT Service Management

 Successful IT service management combines enterprise asset and service management disciplines into a single Web-based architecture, repository, and console that unites disparate departments and processes. Together, they allow companies to better align IT resources with business needs by providing accurate metrics and supporting better IT governance through continuous process improvement based on ITIL best practices. This track introduces a better, faster, and more cost-effective method to improve service and asset management processes, while providing complete IT asset visibility, accountability, and control through a configuration management database (CMDB). Special sessions in this track cover multidimensional analysis of Altiris CMDB data and business rules creation. 

Security & Compliance

Symantec Endpoint Security solutions protect your organization from known and unknown threats and enforce security policies on laptops, desktops, servers, and mobile devices. A combination of antivirus, antispyware, firewall, intrusion prevention, device control, and network-independent access control provide unprecedented security for your systems and networks. This track demonstrates how to protect laptops, desktops, and servers from attack and malicious code, while simultaneously ensuring their continual compliance with IT policies. A special session in this track focuses on emerging threats that target mobile endpoints, and how to ensure the privacy of the sensitive data they contain. 

Server Management

Demands of managing the lifecycle of physical and virtual servers in the data center is often dramatically different from managing desktop computers. This track covers the administration of server hardware, operating systems, and associated network connectivity throughout their lifecycle, including initial deployment, delivery of software, ongoing maintenance, and recovery. Special sessions in this track cover physical to virtual migrations and real-time dependency mapping. Prior to attending this track, we recommend that you review the Alliance track because many of our partners will be providing server-specific sessions directed towards managing their specific platforms.
